Our TBI Klatch family
If you’re here for the reason most of us are, I’m very sorry you or someone about whom you care is dealing with the after effects of a brain injury … but we’re glad you found us.
My name is Bo, founder and a facilitator of the Klatch. I’m a UW grad and an old jarhead (USMC) who worked in big pharma (sorry, truly), biotech and non-profits before literally crashing out on my bicycle. That ‘big one’ unveiled, probably amplified, several prior concussions so now, 18 years later, I’m still reinventing my new normal with a lot of help from my ‘chosen family.’
Struggling for years but failing to regain anything close to ‘normal,’ my recovery began by walking into a room where I was welcomed and embraced by every member of a TBI support group.
Despite good trauma and rehab facilities in this country, they don’t fully prepare for navigating the chronic challenges of TBI, which for many of us persist the rest of our lives. The Klatch is about helping each other do that.

If there was any ‘good’ about my brain injury, it was learning about my true self, both physically and cognitively, then striving to be more accepting, understanding, compassionate and empathetic.
