Our Klatch community
If you’re here for the reason most of us are, I’m very sorry you or someone about whom you care has to deal with the after effects of brain injury … but we’re glad you found us.
My name is Bo, founder and original facilitator of the Klatch. I’m a UW grad and an old jarhead (USMC) who worked in big pharma (truly sorry), biotech and non-profits before literally crashing out on my bicycle. That ‘big one’ unveiled, probably amplified, several prior concussions so now, 18 years later, I’m still reinventing my new normal with a lot of help from my ‘chosen Klatch family.’
I struggled for years but failed to be ‘normal.’ My recovery began walking into a room of survivors, caregivers and families at a TBI support group.
As good as trauma and rehab facilities can be, they don’t fully prepare TBI survivors and families for navigating chronic care and the rest of their lives.

If there is any ‘good’ about a brain injury, for me it’s been learning more about my physical and cognitive self and starting a journey to become more understanding, compassionate and empathetic than I ever was before my accident.
